Twenty Ten: Deja Vu on the Net

Strangely, I’ve seen three examples of the past couple of days of people having Internet Deja Vu.  I have no idea what this means, but it surely is lining up for a strange year.

  1. The Big Picture – Here is the quote from this blog post.“Someone emailed me this great line. I wrote back, saying that’s great, I want to use it, who is the author?

    They answered “You were.”

That’s how I became today’s quote of the day:”

Barry Ritholtz was the first of the year to quote himself.

  2. Phil Michaelson tweets about Retweeting himself:

Phil Michaelson: “was about to retweet a retweet of myself. good to know i still like what i said a few hours ago.
about 15 hours ago from web”

  3. I received a Google Alert about GreenTaxi.com and a review that was posted.

“Green Taxi takes a fairly conservative approach at finance and politics while supporting more liberal plans for the environment.  A bit of personal color from the author, Conor Neu, tied in with occasional humor keep this blog an enticing read each day.  Kindle blogs are fully downloaded onto your Kindle so you can read them even when you’re not wirelessly connected.  And unlike RSS readers which often only provide headlines, blogs on Kindle give you full text content …”

I thought the review was very nice and was about to comment on the site when I realized that the text was just a regurgitation of the Amazon Kindle GreenTaxi.com description page, with the comments and all.  Of course, I had written that description page a year or so ago when I posted the blog to Amazon’s site!  I just did not recognize or remember those words!

Not sure what all of this means, but it sure seems like a strange start to the year with everyone quoting themselves.
