Took a much needed day of relaxation yesterday and went out to the Olympic Peninsula along the Straights of Juan de Fuca in Washington. It was great to relax on the beach, get out with nature, and see quite a bit of wildlife.
We had a few deer walk right passed us while we were on the Dungeness Preserve, which I thought was pretty impressive. I figured they they were just fairly used to humans, however the park ranger we spoke with said that hunting season starts in a few weeks and that they’d only be safe on that reserve. Interestingly, she said they tend to know, and disappear pretty quickly as soon as hunting season starts.
Deer are smarter than I thought.
