European Flight Paths After the Volcano

Following the US Flight Paths video I posted last week, this is a very cool similar video of the flight traffic over Europe. However, this one shows the flight traffic during and after the period of the Volcano in Iceland that stopped all traffic.

Joey + Rory join Sugarland in Rocking Stagecoach

After botching Coachella and spending the week in Tahoe for business, I definitely had some work to do on the homefront this weekend. Well, thank you Stagecoach, you saved me.

Stagecoach is the Country music version of Coachella. It is the weekend following Coachella and has two days worth of music instead of three. That is about where the weaknesses stop. With a great set up around three stages, the music festival rocked.

The first act on the Mane Stage was Joey + Rory. I must say, they were awesome! They have a great story, a great sound, and a great look. The married duo provides a very personal touch on their performance and it is well appreciated.

Rory wears overalls and sings about his farm an hour south of Nashville where he tends to his ducks, chickens and cow named “Shooter”. Joey has an incredible voice and comes across as a strong yet sweet southern gal. I definitely suggest downloading their first album that includes “Cheater, Cheater” and “Play the Song”, and look forward to their new album coming out this Fall.

Another band I enjoyed (it was too bluegrass-y for Katie) was Trampled by Turtles. While Billy Currington was fun, Phil Vassar was a little strange yet had a lot of energy, and Keith Urban comes across as way too fruity to be a Country singer (also why the girls love him, I’m sure), Sugarland stole the show.

For Sugarland, this was their second stop on their new tour and they made it well worth it for us. Not only did they sing all their favorites and put a ton of energy into their performance, but they also “remixed” in a bunch of oldies and pop hits, including Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, and even some “Sweet Caroline.”

Unfortunately we had to come back on Sunday so we did not get to see the second day. Either way, we had a great time. Thank you Stagecoach, we’ll be back next year!
