Foo inspiration

I have been uninspired to write anything today.  I am not sure if it is because of the lack of inspiration from articles and news today (the markets are quiet, domain news is slow, and green news has too much of a political theme today for me to want to dive into it), or if I am just being lazy.  Either way, I started thinking about writing about something different and realized I should touch on this last weekend.

We went to the LA invasion concert by KROQ and were not dissapointed.  Kid Rock never fails to entertain.  He had girls on stage, played the drums, guitar, turn tables, sang country and hip hop, and apparently had a sweet dressing room party as well.  However, it was Foo Fighters who took the cake.  Dave Grohl is an excellent entertainer and kept everyone interested by running all over the stage and through the crowd.  That, and their music just flat out kicked ass.

Threatened Species…who’s counting?

The World Conservation Union, as reported by this Washington Post article, released their “Red List” of threatened species yesterday and the list continues to grow.  Unfortunately they do not provide a very good feel for the rate of growth of the list from a numerical format.  While they added 188 species to the list, they do not say how many were removed, if any, and they make it seem like they only added species because they had enough money to find those species.  The species could have been threatened years back, they just did not know for sure.  This makes the growth of threatened species very hard to judge.  However, I do believe in their underlying theme, that life is not getting any easier for these animals.

The encouraging spots of growth…North American reptiles are doing quite well.  As a resident of North America, even as a lover of animals, I’m not sure how encouraged I am to have more reptiles running through my back yard (if I had one).

The Onions Take

So, while I am on a roll with these “rich” articles on taxes, I might as well copy Sahar and show The Onion’s take on the Rich versus Super Rich.  After this hilarious break, I promise I will get back to the Green Taxi’s more common themes.

In The Know: Are America’s Rich Falling Behind The Super-Rich?
