Mom’s Cranberry Sauce Recipe
Did you know that the US forecast for cranberry production for 2009 in 709 million pounds? That is for the whole year, not solely Thanksgiving, but Turkey day obviously contributes massively to that amount.
Wisconsin is the leading cranberry producer, leading all states with 400 million pounds of cranberries. Massachusetts follows with 190 million pounds, and New Jersey, Oregon, and Washington are also expected to have substancial production, ranging from 16 to 54 million pounds.

Well, our household is holding down our share and consuming at least 1 pound of that production. Katie is using my mom’s Cranberry Sauce Recipe for our Thanksgiving feast this year and I could not be more excited.
Two years ago I put up my mother’s cranberry sauce recipe up on it’s own site, CranberrySauceRecipe.com. The site has traffic spikes every Thanksgiving and Christmas, and the few ads on the site manage to pay for itself.
I taste tested the batch Katie made from the sites recipe and it is just as good as my mom’s original. Try it out! It is a bit sweet and tangy with a little bit of crunch flavor from sliced almonds.
Happy Thanksgiving!
