Well, he may not have called this crisis when he wrote Liar’s Poker, but it was clear to him when he left the financial industry 20 years ago that there was something inherently wrong with this business of making something from nothing.
He put together an article for Portfolio.com last night, called “The End“, that is another great read. Fortunately, it is nothing like his tongue-in-cheek Bloomberg articles, which, while entertaining, can be a bit over the top at times. This approach takes a much more systematic explanation for what he has seen long ago, and more importantly, over the last few years.
Michael Lewis is one of my favorite authors and articles like this continue to prove why I enjoy his words.
