MoreIntellingentLife.com, which looks like a small subsidiary magazine of The Economist, put together a very interesting article about how to make the effort to clean up the Earth a more attractive proposition for people.
It is basically a study in marketing and their point is that the current global green marketing campaign is not working. They believe the marketing needs to be broken down to target demographics and approach those groups individually.
It is an interesting point, because I tend to speak about green issues on a much broader basis than I should as well. It is worth me approaching the sustainability movement by focusing on my target demographic of readers.
Unfortunately, I do not know who my target demographic readers are. For now, that is how I like it. I prefer to toss ideas out there and listen for feedback, rather than to preach to a specific group of followers. If I were to make this blog into a business, I would need to change that, but for now it is more like a marketing pamphlet for my life and thoughts.
So, when or if I do gain a focus demographic group of readers, I need to think about how to approach and make green attractive to them.
