Macau Review

Katiie and I took the chopper over to Macau on Tuesday evening.  Macau continues to grow and impress from the outside, but on the inside it really misses the energy of Vegas.  It is quite boring, actually.

Still, the amount of money going through there from the Chinese gamblers is insane.  I believe it has been making more money than Vegas for the past two years, which is insane considering it seems like it is in the very early stages of its growth.

The helicopter ride was the best part of our trip.  We had a very clear night and a smooth ride.  We went to the City of Dreams and saw the “Bubble” show, which was pretty dissapointing considering the hype it has gotten.  Not unimpressive, but a bit cheesy and short.  We ate at a restaurant in the City of Dreams and it was pretty bad.

We next walked over to the Venetian which is one of the most amazing buildings to see from the outside.  I believe it is the largest building in the world in terms of floor space square footage.  The inside looks great.  Just like the Venetian in Vegas, but just a newer, bigger version.  However, it too was dead quiet.  Such a boring casino floor.  We gambled shortly (I was glad to finally see a craps table in Macau), but without any drinks coming my way, we lost and left quickly.

The late night ferry back to Macau was boring, dirty, and cramped as usual.  No fun, but I managed to sleep most of the way.
