Location: Punta Mita, Mexico
Hotel: Four Seasons
Our first trip to the Four Seasons in Punta Mita will be a memorable one. While it was our honeymoon and thus we will never forget it, the resort stay was one of our best ever.
From the start they new we were newlyweds and treated us like royalty. We received an upgrade to an Ocean Front room (lucky) and the staff all knew us by name. The staff went above and beyond to treat us well, which I will never forget.
The weather was fantastic and while we tried out each beach as well as each pool, we spent the majority of our days at the main pool. The infinity view combined with the constant service and free snacks/water/ice cream/etc was just too enticing to miss.
For activities we tried snorkeling (not many fish), tennis (10 courts, soft and hard, very nice), swimming with the Sea Lions (go through Vallarta Adventures via the concierge, not the Four Seasons version, very fun), horseback riding, cooking lessons (not hands on, but still very personal and educational), yoga, the spa (try the Punta Mita massage with Tequila, the massueses can be hit or miss), tequila history/tasting, and more. The resort offers a lot of free activities, which are great intros if you are just looking to test it out before a bigger splurge of time and money.
The only dissapointment with the resort was the number of food options. They only had 2 restaurants open while there and it was primarily fish oriented Mexican food. The food was fantastic, but it did limit our options for the length of our stay. Amazingly enough, we still enjoyed almost every meal there. We tried almost everything on every menu and came away with several favorites. Our favorite restaurant was Ketsi and we suggest trying the Chicken Mole, the Fish of the Day on a Green Chile stuffed goat cheese, and most importantly, the Pachuga Adobada. If you are lucky enough to have Miguel serve you, take the time to enjoy some conversation with him. He is a fantastic waiter and took extra care of us before we left. Lastly, there are a few extra restaurants in the town of Punta Mita (don’t walk there, take a cab), with Villagio being the best (great Italian food for cheap).
You can’t go wrong with this resort.

We had a great family time at Punta Mita Four Seasons. The kids participated in the activities the hotel had to offer. But we also took surf lessons and Island ride with Accion Tropical. By the end of the day it was an effort in itself to get the kids to go out to the restaurants at the hotel. We discovered Mita Pizza in the village, and had some superb pizza for the kids and ourselves delivered to the comfort of our room.
