I am back and feeling better than ever. Hawaii treated me well and I am excited for 2009.
I have a lot of great stories from the past week and a half in Hawaii, but first a rough outline with a few notes to explain it all.
I will put the individual stories into separate posts and even on other sites of ours (Lahaina.com will get several), but trust me, you want to stay tuned for these. I have video and pictures to accompany most of them, so it will take several days to get it all downloaded, edited, and written before I begin to post. Until then, I plan to run a few posts I had been writing before leaving; mainly random streams of thought about economic issues.
After that, prepare for a few weeks of Hawaii overload, starting with these highlights.
- Katie and I got engagedon New Years Day on Black Point in Lahaina. Full story to follow, but we are extremely excited.
- I went spear diving (basically freediving with spearguns), caught nothing, and we were attacked by a shark.
- A Boar hunting trip on Molokai may have been the most fun action I have been privy too in years. Imagine five hunting dogs (4 trackers and 1 grabber), four guys with knives, and a video camera scrambling up a mountain after wild pigs.
- Dolphin are incredible creatures and my respect for them has blossomed after a full swimming interaction.
- The opportunities for our Neptune business in Lahaina are endless…extremely exciting.
- I had arguably one of the best days of my life in Honolulu, capped off with a spectacular Roy’s dinner.
- I completed reading 2 and a half books (half was enough for me to put the third one down).
