Guest Post: Conor Neu on Basketball.org Features

Yes, I am allowed to Guest Post myself from an article I wrote on a separate blog.  Huh?

Anyway, Basketball.org is continuously making development progress and would like to mention a few of the services we will be including in our eventual launch.  As I wrote,

“First, I would like to explain the general concept with the broad overview of the site.  From our About page, you can see our general mission statement that we are “dedicated to enhancing the abilities of basketball players, teams, and coaches worldwide through the use of innovative technology”.  This means that news and the drama of the pro athelets will not be the core focus of our site.  We will focus on educating both players and coaches how to play the game correctly, how to make your game better, and do it through expert knowledge presented by advanced technology of the Web 2.0 era.

To list a few of the features:

  • Playbook:  We have a core playbook for Youth through High School teams that coaches will be able to leverage for ideas for their team.  We cater to that young dad that is coaching his sons 3rd grade team, but can’t remember the plays his coach taught him at that age.  We cater to the middle school and high school coaches that want to run plays that can get their team a bucket yet also applies good basketball that moves the ball around, gets the team involved, and teaches the players while getting you points on the board.
  • Workout Section:  As a player and a coach, you want your team to be in the best shape possible.  Having spent years in the weight room, running the stairs, jumping rope, and enduring every kind of agility, jumping, and endurance drill out there, the Basketball.org team will provide proven workout drills and schedules.  Most importantly, we know what not to do.  We will not encourage crazy leg stretches that can bust up your knees nor lifting for “maxing out”, which does nothing for basketball muscles.
  • Coaches Forum:  Come chat with other coaches and players around the nation.  Share your plays, ideas, practice plans, and general basketball knowledge.  Join in conversation or ask questions to real college and professional coaches that are well respected in the basketball world.

There are many more features we will announce soon, so stay posted…I can’t overwhelm you with them all at once!”
