Ever been confused by all of the seals of certification for environmentally friendly status on the products you are purchasing? Join the club.
The SF Chronicle put out an article discussing the confusion, titled “Green product seals are grey area“, and tried to offer a few suggestions. However, I think that GreenerChoices.org provides a much more clear description of each. There you can search by product type or label category. I also enjoyed their tips section:
- The “free-range” label doesn’t necessarily mean the animals went outdoors.
- “Fair Trade Certified” means more than paying producers a fair wage.
- Meat labeled as “natural” can contain artificial ingredients.
