Shaun recently pointed out a very cool feature within Google Maps to me. I do not know if this is new or old, but it is new to me.
If you look in Google Maps and search for a city, go to the maps result, then click the “Show Search options” button to the right of the search box. Select the drop down in the top right for the Real Estate menu option. Then hit the Search Maps button again.
The results will show real estate for sale in your area. It looks like the data comes from a combination of several real estate web sites, but I am not sure how often the data is updated.
More interestingly, however, is that you can look at foreclosures. On the left side of the menu, you can filter and see what foreclosures are happening nearby.
I think these Google results are one of the better compilations of real estate out there outside of the MLS system. I predict it won’t be long before MLS is obsolete (years still, but MLS is not innovating fast enough to survive).

I didn’t know about that feature either. Thanks for sharing!
