My new favorite car company, Fisker Automotive, maker of the Fisker Karma (above), got a $528 million loan from the US Government to develop a new $39,000 electric car. They are calling new new hybrid “Project Nina”.
I am looking forward to seeing what Fisker comes up with as the Karma is quite possibly the sweetest thing on wheels. Building a cheaper, less sporty version will be a challenge that I believe Fisker can handle.
The downside to this one? They hope to produce 100,000 cars annually…in 2012. Waiting is so tough.
