Michael put up a good new blog post on Neptune Local, “Make Social Media Work for You“. He discusses the difference between just setting up social network profiles versus actually using them as tools. There is a massive difference and it takes time and effort.
However, the payoff of that extra time and effort is substantial.
“If you think that you can sit back and put up a facebook page, and “tweet” your latest blog posts, and you will reap huge benefits you are mistaken. However the more you offer real value to people, the more they will respond to you network. Like anything else it is a give and take relationship that you are building.”
