China Opens More Web Sites
In a rare Hu Jintaou speech last week, the Chinese President vowed to take a more open stance with foreign press.
The country released access to several previously banned Web sites this weekend, including ones run by human-rights group Amnesty International and the Chinese version of Wikipedia. The sites were available in the Olympic Village’s main press center, but also were reported to be available in many other cities inside of China.
This is great news for those interested in international domain names and Internet development. The more the Chinese population gains access to the entire Internet, the more demand there will be for international economic growth spurred by a quickly growing Chinese GDP.
