As we continue to develop tools, design the final site, create video, and prepare interviews or content from established basketball experts, one progression for Basketball.org stands out above the rest: Content.
While George and others have been hard at work preparing articles on drills, skills, plays, and stories, we also have talented writers putting together instant classics on the current blog on the site. I must say that the headline articles on the site today are a few of the best.
Here are a few of my favorites to feast on as the NBA, college, and high school seasons begin:
- NBA JAM: An Ode to the Game that Coined “Altitude with an Attitude”
- NBA Season Starts Tonight: Here is a Rundown of the Offseason Transactions
- Two-Zero? Two-Ply!
- Playing Time, Coach’s Fault?
- Lindsey Hunter Still in Great Shape
- GM Survey
- Mayo Will Win Rookie of the Year
- Will the Economy Crush the NBA?
The amount of people signing up for an early heads up on the release and potential beta-viewers of the members-only section is packing our databases already. Sign up for yourself here.
We anticipate coming to you all with information on the final launch by the end of 2008. In the meantime, I leave you with a ”BOOM Shakalaka“ from Cole:
ESPN The Magazine has a great throwback Q&A with Mark Turmell. Who? Oh, he’s just the guy that created the most groundbreaking arcade game in history… NBA JAM.
Yes, I use the word “throwback” because it makes me think back to the 300-plus lunch periods I spent at the 7-11 across the street from my middle school, trying to get a giant-headed Spud Webb to jump 40 feet in the air, spin three times, and deliver the facial on Scottie Pippen. BOOM Shakalaka! It’s safe to say the Marv Albert was one of the most influential voices in my young schooling years. Nobody should ever say that, for a variety of reasons.
Content is key. With comedy like that, how can you go wrong?!
