DOMAINfest Auction Day 1 a Success
The results of the Snapnames.com auction at DomainFest seems to have been quite successful so far, netting $800k. The higher priced domains will be going in round two of the auction this afternoon. In my opinion, the only disappointments yesterday were the “.la” TLD extensions, which seems logical to me. This was a one-time shot for the seller to exit those domains in the city of their use. But the auction did not buy into the hype or price and the “.la” terms were passed over quickly.
We managed to snag a great domain in the auction yesterday that will be discussed later. This is Michael‘s first DomainFest, so the biggest benefit to him are the connections being made and hopefully some education from the seminars. Going into the conference we made sure we were going to get our money’s worth. We did our due diligence both on the speakers sessions and domains available in the auction. I am proud to say that so far we have succeeded in that goal and have realized the value of the conference first-hand (well, second-hand to me).
